Harte Coyle Collins, Solicitors & Solicitor Advocates The firm specialises in legacy cases including litigation and representation of clients before Inquests and Inquiries.
We currently represent the next of kin and family members of those killed in the recent conflict either by the state and/or paramilitaries. We pursue civil claims against the PSNI and the MOD particularly in cases involving state collusion with paramilitaries for negligence, breach of the right to life (protected by the European Convention on Human Rights), breach of statutory duty and malfeasance in public office.
We also compile submissions on behalf of families to the Attorney General for Northern Ireland seeking fresh inquests into the deaths of their loved ones and represent clients when such fresh inquests are granted.
We deal with applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission in respect of historic convictions seeking fresh information and evidence with a view to such convictions being referred back to the Northern Ireland Court of Criminal Appeal and quashed.
