Meadbh O’Dowd qualfied as a solicitor in September 2025 after a 2 year apprenticeship with Harte Coyle Collins, training across the criminal defence, litigation and family law departments.
Meadbh is from Lurgan, graduated from Queen’s University with an LLB (Hons) in Law in 2020, worked for a year as a paralegal for a human rights Belfast firm dealing with applications to the Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Board (HIA) and assisting with human rights, legacy and civil actions before qualifying as a solicitor in 2025.
She is an experienced criminal defence solicitor who works with Diarmaid Kelly and Cathal Mullan as part of the criminal defence team in the firm. She assists clients arrested and prosecuted in the criminal courts across the jurisdication and guides them from arrest stage to the end result. Meadbh has in particular built up a cirminal defence practice for Magistrates and Crown Court cases in Lisburn, Craigavon and Dungannon.
She also deals with family law cases in Belfast, Lisburn and Craigavon as well as prison related litigation and wills & probate.
Meadbh is part of the Environmental Law Department launched by the firm in 2024 and provides assistance with Entertainment Law cases.
