The Attorney General for Northern Ireland, Mr John Larkin Q.C., has granted a fresh inquest into the killing of 15 year old Patrick Crawford, who was shot in the grounds of the Royal Victoria Hospital on the 10th August 1975. The Attorney General granted the fresh inquest in late September 2015 after receiving a request to review the case directly from Patrick’s sister, Magdalene Crawford. Ms Crawford then approached lawyers at Harte Coyle Collins, Solicitors & Solicitor Advocates, to represent her.
Ms Magdalene (Maggie) Crawford said today;
“The family welcome the Attorney General’s decision notified to us in late September 2015 to grant a fresh inquest into the murder of our brother Patrick. Patrick was an innocent, unarmed child who was shot in the grounds of the RVH on the 10th August 1975 by a high velocity bullet. No one has ever been convicted of his murder. We hope that the fresh inquest goes some way towards dispelling the untruths which resulted from the flawed first inquest and establishing the facts of who killed Patrick once and for all.”
