HCC Lawyers have been successful with an Application before the Crown Court to have a client admitted to bail to a Drug Rehabilitation Residential Programme.
Chris McCann, Solicitor of Harte Coyle Collins, Solicitors representing the man stated:
“Many individuals find themselves before the courts as a result of them having Addiction issues. Admission to custody, despite the best efforts of an under-resourced Prison Service, is often not the best place for an individual to deal with those issues. In fact, more often than not, individuals leave custody with greater addiction issues than they had when they entered. We recognise that custody is therefore not the best way to break the cycle of re-offending and we are encouraged that the Court have agreed and granted bail to a Residential Drug Treatment Centre in this instance. There are alternatives to custody and we are willing to continue to link in with services on behalf of individuals to attempt to get them the assistance they require.”
