Paula Collins is from Armagh and graduated with an MA from Edinburgh University in 1990. She then completed the Certificate in Advanced Legal Studies at Queens University Belfast in 1994. Paula attended the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queens and qualified as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in 1996.
Paula is a member of the Belfast Solicitors Association, a member of the Northern Ireland Law Society Children Order Panel, the Northern Ireland Guardian ad Litem Agency Children Order Panel and a member of the Association of Collaborative Lawyers.
Paula is the Partner in charge of the Harte Coyle Collins Family & Children Order Law Department. and is an expert in both private and public family and Children Order cases. She represents the interests of children before the courts on behalf of Guardians ad Litem. She also deals with all other aspects of private client cases including applications for contact, residence, joint residence, specific issues and prohibited steps Orders and Wardship applications.
Paula has expertise in dealing with relocation applications and Hague Convention matters. She also has experience dealing with cases involving the abduction of children from Northern Ireland to Hague and non-Hague jurisdictions.
She has extensive experience in dealing with divorce and financial matters related to divorce/end of cohabitation. This is a forensic area of law which requires expert skill and attention to detail to ensure the best outcome for the client.
Paula is currently completing a mediation course at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies which will provide her with a Certificate in Mediation in respect of dispute resolution.
