Harte Coyle Collins, solicitors who represented the Irish language band Kneecap in their contract negotiations in 2022/2023 for their film, congratulate their clients on the success of their film at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in Utah last week.
The film, due for release in 2024, is a dramatized version of the origins of the band and their lives growing up in a post Good Friday Agreement Belfast.
Patricia Coyle solicitor who acted on behalf of the band in the contract negotiations said today;
“We are delighted to have represented our clients in their 2022/23 contract negotiations for the film ‘Kneecap’ . Our 3 talented clients were both co-creators and principal cast members of the film which premiered at Sundance and won the NEXT Audience Award last week. The film is based on a version of their own life stories and the origins of the band. It represents 3 years of hard work for our clients. The film will no doubt reflect the diversity of modern youth culture and society generally in Belfast today. We wish our clients every success with the film and look forward to the release later this year.”
