Maureen McKeown, originally from England, lived in Downpatrick, Co Down, for over 40 years. She spent most of her working life alongside her husband setting up and running a family business, while proudly raising 5 children. Maureen sadly passed away on the 1st March 2021. She is much missed by her family and friends.
Maureen wrote her book after a chance internet search for family members. She discovered an extraordinary series of events in Australia almost 100 years ago that were triggered by her Great Aunt, an Irish nun. As the story unfolded, Maureen believed it was worthy of the Big Screen. The book is titled the Extraordinary Case of Sister Liguori. She wrote and published the novel herself
Maureen approached Patricia Coyle of Harte Coyle Collins, Solicitors & Advocates for legal advice on the film Options contract and a contract was negotiated during her lifetime.
Maureen’s family continue to deal with the Director and very much look forward to watching The Extraordinary Case of Sister Liguori as a feature film in the cinema at some point in the future.
