31st December 2014; Harte Coyle Collins, Solicitors & Solicitor Advocates, are proud to announce the 10 year anniversary of the firm’s award for excellence in arrest procedure to trainee solicitors and barristers at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Queen’s University, Belfast.
The firm continues to collaborate with the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s University Belfast in respect of the award for excellence in arrest procedure for trainee lawyers in Northern Ireland. The Harte Coyle Collins prize for PACE (Police & Criminal Evidence procedure) was first awarded in 2005. The award was set up by the firm to ensure that the next generation of criminal defence lawyers recognise the importance and impact of the arrest and interview stage of the criminal justice process and the solicitor’s critical role at this early stage.
The Harte Coyle Collins PACE prize is awarded on an annual basis to the trainee solicitor or barrister with the highest score in an assessed exercise regarding the law and procedures for arrests in Northern Ireland.
